Our Seniors who've been eliminated from the State Tournament, and little tid-bit about them:
Alex Wolf-Parchment(1,012 career points)
Jimmy Strunk-East Kentwood(bankhoops.com's most improved player in class 'A'- 2006)
Zach Hurd-Portage Northern(CDBA from 1998-2005)
Chris Dedow-Portage Northern('B' team as a 7th grader to starter as a Senior)
Matt Jamieson-Wayland(All-Conference OK/Gold 2006)
Thanks guys for all of the fun times and being the 'building blocks' of the CDBA!!
Please read the following post that I 'borrowed' from bankhoops.com. "Somekidsdad" is a person very dear to the Camp Darryl program, and his thoughts are very close to home for many of us around the state.

Well, this could be it. My boy, who prefers that I don't identify myself or him (he doesn't quite trust me not to embarass us), is playing the first district game of his Senior year tonight. We could go "one and out", like half the teams in the State. What a great ride it's been. The boy's playing small college ball next year, so tonight won't be the end of basketball for him, just potentially the end of HS ball. We've travelled far and wide playing hoops in places we never thought we'd see, and we've had a ball. I've let my emotions get the better of me more than a few time, and I've said (and posted) things I later regretted.
One thing I learned, there are a LOT of very talented players and teams, and even MORE unrealistic parents, fans, coaches, and even a few unrealistic players. Moms and Dads who are sure their boy is always the best player on the floor, who should have the ball and take the shot more than anyone.
It's hard to accept that your boy might NOT be the best kid out there all the time, but there it is, staring you in the face, so how are you going to react? Deny it? Blame the coach, the refs, your kid, selfish team-mates? How about just accept it and say BIG DEAL. He's still my boy, and I still love him, and we win our share and lose our share, just like 99% of the other players and teams.
Good luck to you all, and try to enjoy HS sports, whether you are a player, a fan, a parent, a ref, a coach, or even a web site owner like Steve (who by the way has been a great addition to the Michigan HS basketball scene)
